Fishing in Willsboro and Surroundings

Lake Champlain & Willsboro Bay

Willsboro Bay provides a sheltered environment for anglers, especially when Lake Champlain is windy. The bay is home to various species, including bluegill, brook and brown trout, northern pike, walleye, and more. A boat launch site on County Route 27 offers ample parking and facilities. Check in with Willsboro's Indian Bay Marina for boating conditions.

Boquet River

The Boquet River, flowing through Willsboro, is renowned for its spring salmon run and is stocked with landlocked salmon, brown, and brook trout. Fishing is permitted from the Route 22 bridge in Willsboro downstream approximately 1,500 feet to the marked boundary at the base of the cascades. Bouquet river access point is here. The Boquet River is the steepest river in New York State. It drops over 2,700 feet in a relatively short distance of 47 miles, from its source on Dix Mountain to its mouth at Lake Champlain. Upstream from Willsboro.
