Lake Champlain & Willsboro Bay

Willsboro Bay provides a sheltered environment for anglers, especially when Lake Champlain is windy. Boquet River

The Boquet River, flowing through Willsboro, is renowned for its spring salmon run and is stocked with landlocked salmon, brown, and brook trout. Fishing is permitted from the Route 22 bridge in Willsboro downstream approximately 1,500 feet to the marked boundary at the base of the cascades. Bouquet river access point is here. The Boquet River is the steepest river in New York State. It drops over 2,700 feet in a relatively short distance of 47 miles, from its source on Dix Mountain to its mouth at Lake Champlain.
